Today, Bryce and I met Julien and Jackie at the Children's Museum for a playdate. Bryce was rather subdued the entire time we were there. He became the most animated when I asked him if he wanted to put the blocks away. He very enthusiastically cleaned up all of the blocks...even if another kid was using them!

Funny Story
Sometimes when we put Bryce to bed, he goes right to sleep. Other nights...like tonight...he sings and chatters away for hours. He likes to get down on the floor and call/talk to us from under the door. (We have a safety latch on the inside, so he can't just wander out of the room.) Sometimes we go in and put him back into bed and remind him that "big boys" don't get out of bed and play at night. Tonight, however, we decided to ignore it and see if he would put himself back in bed. Eventually, he stopped chatting and fell asleep. Then, around 11pm, he woke up with a big scream/cry. I carefully opened the door and looked in his bed. He wasn't there! He had fallen asleep on the floor (not the rug) behind the door and apparently woke up enough to realize he wasn't very comfortable! I put him back in bed and he was instantly asleep! If only this would mean that he won't be getting out of bed when he isn't supposed to anymore...

Cabin Fever!
When it is 38 degrees out with snowflakes falling and your child has a cough and cold and you are rather far along in your pregnancy, what do you do? Bundle up and go to the zoo, of course!
Bryce has been begging to go to the zoo this week, but it isn't the easiest wish to grant given the above listed circumstances. However, I was willing to hop on the bus and give a try this morning in the hopes that it would keep me from going nuts in the house!
Bryce was super excited to go, but quickly ran out of energy. I had not brought a stroller or carrier because that makes it really hard for me to navigate the bus...so instead, I got to carry around a tired toddler! Bryce even fell asleep on the bus on the way home. I was hoping he would stay asleep, but as soon as I walked in the house he said, "Mommy, I wake up!"

Mimi's Blocks
It has been a rough start to the New Year for Bryce (and his roommates)... Bryce and Jeremy came down with a case of food poisoning on New Year's Day and spent the rest of the weekend unsuccessfully holding down food. Mimi has caught a nasty cold and Bryce has now developed a cold and cough. Apparently his stomach and GI tract are not back to normal either because he got sick again today. I have done more laundry than I care to think about for the last week! Kids should not be allowed to get sick like this until they understand the concept of running for a toilet, trashcan or bucket!
