Bryce, Audrey and I met Jackie, Julien and Max at the Botanic Gardens this afternoon. (Thank, Jackie for the photos!) The boys had a blast running around together - particularly in the Children's Garden. And you can definitely tell that it was a hot one today...look at Bryce's rosy red cheeks!
Macky is starting Bryce early for drinking games...
Actually, Bryce was just really thirsty and could not resist the opportunity to drink from a gigantic bottle!
Later this evening, Bryce tried to decorate Audrey with some tree leaves.
We had "family drawing time" this evening as a quiet activity before Bryce's bedtime. I heard an author/illustrator in Brooklyn, Mo Willems talk about doing this with his family and thought it would be fun for us! We opted for a cityscape mural...
Audrey even got in on the action...
Jeremy brought Bryce and Audrey out of bed to see our magical rainbows this evening! Hopefully, Bryce will hopefully have even more magical dreams tonight as a result!
Bryce and Audrey practiced on the potty together this afternoon. Neither one actually did anything, but they seemed to enjoy each others company!
Bryce had so much fun at the museum today! He really loves the new exhibit called "Run, Jump, Fly". It was especially cute because there were quite a few older kids at that exhibit that Bryce "befriended." I don't think they knew they were playing with Bryce, but Bryce had a fantastic time with them! At one point, two of the little boys wandered off to another part of the exhibit and Bryce started calling, "Hey, guys?!" and "Boys, Let's play!" He was having so much fun that I couldn't even get him to leave with the promise of ice cream!
Bryce, Audrey and I went back to our old neighborhood this morning for Music Together. Bryce told me as we arrived that he didn't want to go. Being that I had just walked 2 miles to get there, I told him we had to go, but he could just stay in the stroller. And so, that is where he stayed for a while. Eventually, the class was more interesting than the stroller and Bryce joined in. After Music, we went to my old school. I needed to fill out some paperwork and I knew folks would get a kick out of seeing Bryce and Audrey. On the way, I was telling Bryce about school and how he would get to go when he is a little older. His response was, "Oh, thank you, Mommy!" I wish I had that on tape! Bryce had a fantastic time at the school. He was not shy at all and just walked right in to the classrooms and looked around as though he was at home. Some 5th graders were even nice enough to read him a story! After that, we went to the playground and then to the library. I was certainly pooped after all of that walking...and so was Bryce...he passed out in the stroller before I could get back home!

And the hardest part to deal with is that he is pretty happy about it!
Bryce and I let Jeremy sleep in this morning while we made him breakfast. Then we headed to the playground. This is Bryce's new favorite playground because they have all of these cars and push toys that belong to the playground, so that all of the kids can use them.

We took the train out to New Jersey for a BBQ at our friends, Bina, Andrew and Daphne's house this afternoon. Bryce was SUPER excited to play with Daphne (and her toys)! The kids had a lot of fun together with only a few minor squabbles. The rest of the time, they were hugging!
Jeremy got into the swing of things and had all of the kids playing a game with him!
Doesn't it look like I caught Bryce and Daphne being mischievous? Right before I took these pictures, Jeremy overheard Bryce calling, "Come here, Daphne! Don't run away from me!"
Bryce was quite an entertainer this afternoon, even though he wasn't trying to be. Audrey is completely fascinated with Bryce and has so much that she wants to tell him.
Though, the pictures make it look like Bryce was doing the talking and Audrey was just making the perfect reactions, it was actually the other way around.
We had a gigantic personal puddle on our patio today and Mimi though Bryce would have fun splashing in the rain.
Bryce was really hesitant. He then said he was chilly, so I got a warm shirt for him to wear. This made it so he was willing to venture out a little further, but only if Mimi held the umbrella.
Ultimately, Mimi is the only one who did any splashing in the puddle. Bryce was only interested in using his shovel to move the water a bit!
Bryce's hair was getting a bit "unruly", so I gave him a home haircut this afternoon. He does a really great job of sitting still even though he doesn't like it when the cut hair gets on his neck and face. I'm glad that he is little and isn't worried about what his hair looks like...this way, I have some time to perfect my "art". Nevertheless, I think I did a pretty decent job given the fact that I am generally clueless about cutting hair!
Bryce, Audrey and I met up with Jackie and Julien at the 3rd Street Playground after Music Together. It was nice hanging out at our old stomping ground...and of course, Bryce and Julien had a blast together!
