Numbers...

Hi all,

My computer is back from the shop, but it needs to be reconfigured and I don't have it hooked up to the Internet, so no Bryce pictures today.

Bryce has been busy learning his numbers. For the longest time, everything was two...then, he would count "one, two", but that was as far as he would go. Now he counts up to 10! (Though, not really in order!) He is also learning which numbers are bigger and is trying to bargain with the numbers. Last night, I asked him how many times he wanted to read the book (usually the answer is 2) and he said 8! Then today, Mimi was trying to get him to come do something else, so she said that he would have to stop what he was doing in 2 minutes. His response... "No, 6!". So adorable!!!

A Photo-less Update

Hi all,

My computer is still in the shop, so I can't upload any photos...

Bryce is doing well, despite a little cold. This past weekend, Bryce discovered that it is REALLY fun to pretend to be all kinds of different animals! Jeremy had the pleasure of being Bryce's sidekick. By the end, Jeremy was begging to be any animal that could stand on two legs and didn't hop!

Bryce also loves to play the "Where did Bryce go?" game. Of course, he doesn't realize that we always know where he is because he advertises it so well!

Love,
Carla

70% Chance...

...that Bryce is having a baby sister! Jeremy and I went in for an ultrasound today (I'm 15.5 weeks along) and the technician is "pretty sure" the baby is a girl. We'll go back in for another ultrasound in another month or so, and they expect to be able to give a more accurate guess then. I would post a sonogram picture, but I don't have a scanner at home...sorry!

Warning! My computer is going in to the shop either tomorrow or Friday, so the Digest will not be updated until the computer returns!

It is the Little Things...

I'm not sure why we have all of the toys that we have for Bryce - he is completely entertained with a paper bag and a pot lid!

In this video, he keeps saying "again" wanting to be tickled!

New Hat?

Jeremy was getting Bryce into his pajamas when Bryce discovered how funny he looks in his "new hat" (a.k.a. his shirt)! If he keeps wanting to wear his shirt like this, I think I know what he will be for Halloween...Raggedy Andy!

Be Your Own Tunnel...

Bryce loves his choo-choos on an off the track...when he doesn't have his tracks out, he makes his own. Bryce is very interested in directional words like up, down, on, under, through, etc. So, the whole time he is playing, he is describing where the trains are on him or on the floor.

Chicka-Licka-Boom-Boom!

Bryce loves pretending to ride a horse with Mimi while she sings the song "Chicka-Licka-Boom-Boom". His favorite part is at the end when he "falls" off the horse! He wants to do this over and over again. We finally had to stop him tonight because we could hear all of the milk he had just had sloshing around in his belly!

Last Days at the Beach, A Train and the Zoo!

On our last full day at the beach (I forgot my camera when we went to the ocean), Bryce had fun burying his legs in the sand and digging big holes in the sand that he could sit in. When we came back to the pool, Bryce discovered that he could walk down the steps and then jump and swim to his Grandpa Mac. He loved it and did not even mind that his face went under the water a little, too!

After Bryce's nap, we all went and played a round of miniature golf. Bryce did really well for the first few holes, but then wanted to go explore everywhere else. He also really liked to pick up the balls for us...even if we were not done with our putting! (Forgot my camera for this, too!) It was really hot at the golf course, so we all jumped in the pool again when we got back. Bryce wanted to play with his trucks and play in the pool at the same time... luckily, the trucks floated!

On our last morning, we stopped our frantic packing long enough to take a picture of the 4 generations of McDaniels (and the McDaniel Shannons!) Bryce's Great Grandma was such a trooper to make the trip to the beach with us after her 94th birthday and we had a very nice time visiting with her! On Labor Day, Bryce, Jeremy and I caught the train back to NYC. We were lucky that we got on early in the route because it was standing room only by the end! Today, Bryce and I met up with our friends, Julien and Jackie at the zoo. Julien has finally decided that walking is more fun than crawling and he and Bryce had fun chasing each other around the zoo. Their favorite part was, of course, milking the cows!
