Grocery Train

Bryce loves that we have our groceries delivered because it means that every week he has new boxes to play with. This evening, he made quite a train. I asked him if he was the train engineer, but he said, "No, not engineer... I'm Bryce."

Hidden Camera

It is really hard to get any footage of Bryce with the video camera because as soon as he notices it, he wants to see what is happening on the screen. I have been trying to catch him deep in play for a while now...just so you can hear his dialogue. This isn't the best example, but you can definitely tell he likes to talk and make noise!

Happiness is Yogurt

Bryce has recently renewed his passion for yogurt. He practically woke up from his nap (hence the bedhead) requesting some!

Super Soccer Stars!

We've all heard the phrase "Manic Mondays", but we are living the phrase "Tortured Saturdays"! Bryce continued his opposition to music class this morning. We then had his first soccer class. He was talking for the last few days about playing soccer, but as soon as we got there... tears. Throughout the class...more tears. On the rare occasion that we could get him to participate, he didn't want to do what the other kids were doing. The final straw was when they gave him a sticker for coming to class and he didn't want it!

Tickling Baby Sister!

Bryce caught me by surprise this evening. He asked to see "baby sister", which means for me to lift my shirt so that he can poke at my belly. I lifted my shirt and we were talking about "baby sister" when he all of a sudden bent down and blew a zerbert on my stomach! Of course, we started laughing about him tickling "baby sister" and he didn't want to stop!

Bryce the Kitty

Poor Puddy... Bryce won't even let him have a few moments alone in the sunshine... Bryce loves to pretend to be a cat and it is especially fun when he can pretend to be a cat with a real cat!

Window Seat

Bryce loves the windows at our new place. They are the perfect size for him to play in, sit in and watch all of the comings and goings on our street. You can't see it because of the flash, but it was snowing outside, which is what inspired Bryce to climb up!

Little 'Cuz

Bryce and I went to New Jersey today to visit with Nikki, Andy, Danny and Mimi. Bryce was most excited about the train ride, lunch and getting to play with Mimi and toys. He noticed that Danny existed, but that is about it! I took tons of pictures of Danny with my camera and Nikki took pictures of Bryce with her camera, so... until I can get a hold of those, here's one of Bryce's sleepy little cousin with his Aunt Nikki and his Mommy!

Imagination Station

Bryce had a very full day today...and seemed to enjoy most of it. We trudged over to Music Together in the FREEZING weather first thing this morning and Bryce threw a fit throughout most of the class. He didn't want anyone to sing... makes things a little difficult in a music class. After that, we picked up some muffins from the Farmer's Market and went to the library. Bryce loves the library and had a great time picking out several new books. We got home just in time for naptime (for all 3 of us). After his nap, Bryce had a great evening playing with his cars, truck and choo-choos. He is so much fun to watch because sometimes the tissue box is a choo-choo...or a blanket is a truck... He has such an active imagination!

Mr. Clean-Up

Today, Bryce and I met Julien and Jackie at the Children's Museum for a playdate. Bryce was rather subdued the entire time we were there. He became the most animated when I asked him if he wanted to put the blocks away. He very enthusiastically cleaned up all of the blocks...even if another kid was using them!

Funny Story

Sometimes when we put Bryce to bed, he goes right to sleep. Other nights...like tonight...he sings and chatters away for hours. He likes to get down on the floor and call/talk to us from under the door. (We have a safety latch on the inside, so he can't just wander out of the room.) Sometimes we go in and put him back into bed and remind him that "big boys" don't get out of bed and play at night. Tonight, however, we decided to ignore it and see if he would put himself back in bed. Eventually, he stopped chatting and fell asleep. Then, around 11pm, he woke up with a big scream/cry. I carefully opened the door and looked in his bed. He wasn't there! He had fallen asleep on the floor (not the rug) behind the door and apparently woke up enough to realize he wasn't very comfortable! I put him back in bed and he was instantly asleep! If only this would mean that he won't be getting out of bed when he isn't supposed to anymore...

Orderly Thinking

Ever since Bryce has been able to play independently, he has always loved to line up his toys. He usually lines them up and then will move them in order, so they still stay in line. Jeremy and I really think this is funny because we are not even remotely that ordered in our thinking or our lives! We also really love how his favorite toys are not really toys. I mean, who would have thought that boxes of humidifier filters could capture the heart of a toddler?

Overriding Emotion...

This is the face that I have seen the most in the last week or so. It is usually combined with the phrase, "I don't want it!" The combination of feeling sick and being 2 is just too much sometimes!

Cabin Fever!

When it is 38 degrees out with snowflakes falling and your child has a cough and cold and you are rather far along in your pregnancy, what do you do? Bundle up and go to the zoo, of course! Bryce has been begging to go to the zoo this week, but it isn't the easiest wish to grant given the above listed circumstances. However, I was willing to hop on the bus and give a try this morning in the hopes that it would keep me from going nuts in the house! Bryce was super excited to go, but quickly ran out of energy. I had not brought a stroller or carrier because that makes it really hard for me to navigate the bus...so instead, I got to carry around a tired toddler! Bryce even fell asleep on the bus on the way home. I was hoping he would stay asleep, but as soon as I walked in the house he said, "Mommy, I wake up!"

Mimi's Blocks

It has been a rough start to the New Year for Bryce (and his roommates)... Bryce and Jeremy came down with a case of food poisoning on New Year's Day and spent the rest of the weekend unsuccessfully holding down food. Mimi has caught a nasty cold and Bryce has now developed a cold and cough. Apparently his stomach and GI tract are not back to normal either because he got sick again today. I have done more laundry than I care to think about for the last week! Kids should not be allowed to get sick like this until they understand the concept of running for a toilet, trashcan or bucket!
In an effort to keep Bryce entertained, we pulled out "Mimi's blocks" today. We told Bryce that these blocks only come out on special occasions, like when he or Mimi don't feel well, etc. Bryce had a blast - particularly with the blocks shaped like animals and with the ramps or bridges for his cars and trucks!

Best in Show

Bryce gets such a kick out of watching himself on his blog or in his videos. He gives a running commentary of everything that is happening and sometimes gets upset when the Bryce in the video doesn't do what the Bryce now wants him to do.
