The Little Engine that Could!

Look at this muscle man! Bryce was pushing a double stroller WITH Audrey in it! He was, of course, pretending to be a train.

We found a really sweet cat that was having fun in the sun. Bryce really wanted to pet the cat and eventually, he came close enough. Then, Bryce really wanted to feed the cat...leaves. We tried to convince him that cats don't eat leaves, but Bryce was not to be deterred!

Juggling!

Perhaps inspired by his Daddy coming home from Illinois this morning - Bryce announced to me that he was going to juggle! Here are the results...

Bryce could definitely use some work on his accuracy, but he certainly has flair!

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Cuddling with my two presents before bedtime on my birthday!

A Mommy Sandwich

As my last insane act at the age of 30, I carried both Bryce and Audrey to Music Together this morning. I had Bryce on my back and Audrey on my front. That's over 50 pounds and a 3-mile walk! I think I am going to be sore tomorrow!

Bryce wanted a picture of the 3 of us at the "station". I told him we could take a picture together, but we weren't at the station anymore. Apparently, that didn't translate because when he saw the picture, he burst into tears because we weren't at the real station!

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

We celebrated Mimi's birthday today! Bryce was very excited... mostly about the cake. Yesterday, when I asked him what we should get for Mimi for her birthday, his answer was "pigs." He was meaning the pig candle holders, but I thought that was pretty funny. Then today, Nikki asked Bryce if we should have candles on the cake. He replied, "Yes, lots and lots of candles!" Such a funny kid! And when Mimi was frosting the cake (yes, Mimi had to help make her own cake...it was that kind of day!), Bryce said, "Mimi, I love you very much, so I will share your cake with you."
Bryce helped Mimi blow out the candles. Oh, and check out the Bryce already has his fork in his hand!

Sound Effects

Bryce was reminding me so much of Jeremy this afternoon. First, because he had his tongue out while concentrating on his 'work'. Second, because of all the sound effects he was making as he played with the various toys. I know there is no audio, but I am pretty sure you can hear the sounds even in the still pictures!

Sisterly Inspiration

I gave Audrey a cold carrot to chew on with the hope of helping her gums feel better and Bryce had to have one, too! He even ate it! Now, I just need to get Audrey to start eating all the other foods that Bryce is picky about...

Okay, this picture just cracks me up... Lip Sync, anyone?

Giddy-up Gator!

Bryce has asked to ride this alligator so many times and today, he finally got his wish!

Bryce was even willing to share his ride with Audrey. She held onto Bryce for dear life! Such cuties!

Pumpkin Picking!

We headed out to New Jersey today to our favorite farm to pick PUMPKINS! We underestimated the temperature and were all a little chilly. Bryce fought off the chills by playing in a giant hay tunnel! He had a great time running with all of the kids.

We were able to pry Bryce away from the tunnel with the enticement of the moonbounce and "Corn Kingdom".
Bryce was pretending to swim in the corn!
Here we are on the big tractor hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.
Bryce was really cold, so we borrowed some extra clothes from Andy and made a warm costume for Bryce! We decided that he is dressed as a Ninja Reaper... whatever that is...

Bryce investigated so many of the pumpkins and selected quite a few to take home. (We only chose one, however.) The most exciting things about the pumpkin patch, though, were the beetles (?) that were crawling on some of the pumpkins. Bryce picked one up and deemed that they were friends. He still had his beetle friend on his hand while we were waiting for the hayride back to the farmhouse. Another man in line saw the beetle and quickly knocked it off Bryce's hand. The poor guy thought he was helping, but instead sent Bryce into hysterical crying about losing his new friend! We managed to find his friend again, but apparently their relationship was too damaged from the attack and the beetle stayed in the pumpkin patch.
Daddy and Bryce picked an ear of Indian corn.
Bryce took a ride on the tractor wagons after we came back to the farmhouse. He struck up a conversation with his wagon mate and seemed to chat the whole ride. Unfortunately, his wagon mate didn't seem to know how to converse, so Bryce basically talked to himself. Bryce then invited his new human friend to come on the moonbounce with him, but again, his wagon mate did not seem to notice/hear or know how to respond to this request. Bryce had fun bouncing anyway.
No trip to a farm would be complete without a pony ride!

Not a Box

"Bryce, why are inside a box?"
"It's not a box, it's a ..." (borrowed from the favorite book "Not a Box")

Quote of the Day:
Bryce was supposed to be napping/resting in his room, but instead was gathering toys and playing in the living room. I was working (trying to pretend he was resting). Bryce then came over to me and said very emphatically, "Mommy, Look at me! I am awake. Look, it is light outside. I do not need to sleep!" Ummm, yeah. I just burst out laughing.

Down By the Station

This is how I was greeted this morning by Bryce and Audrey!
And as I type this posting, Jeremy is reading the book/song "Down By the Station", which inspires me...
"Down by the station early in the morning.
See the little puffer trains all in a row.
See the engine driver pull the little handle.
Chuff, chuff, chuff and off we go."

On the Runway

Bryce wanted to bring his water bottle and snack cup to the playground this afternoon, so I got out a bag to carry everything. Bryce decided that he would carry it by himself and put the bag over his shoulder. Apparently, this inspired him to show off his best model runway moves. He's got the look!
