All About Being a Big Brother

I think Bryce is really just looking for any excuse to be up on my lap, but he is doing it so sweetly... He asks if he can "pet Danny", which means, he wants to rub Audrey's head or give her a hug. Audrey seems to enjoy the attention!

Big Brother!

Bryce has a new baby sister...Audrey Helena Shannon was born on February 26th! (Check out her blog... Audrey's Almanac...) Bryce is a super-loving big brother, though would love to have his Mommy and Daddy all to himself again!The biggest excitement for Bryce has been getting "Big Brother" presents from Audrey...including new digger and mixer trucks. Then, to top it all off, a real digger truck came and dug up our sidewalk and street today! (We told him that Audrey arranged this for him.) What a thrill!

Talk of Grandparents...

Water Explorer

Bryce has a cold and the weather is super cold, so we had to find some indoor distractions today. The big hit was playing in the sink with lots of water toys.

We gave Bryce an apple as an item to explore with the water, but he decided he would rather eat it!

Morning Routine

Bryce's internal alarm goes off at 7am (sometimes a little earlier) every morning. He then will crawl into bed with Jeremy and me for a few minutes of snuggle time, but very quickly wants to get up and go find Mimi! They read together in the mornings and occasionally even have breakfast in bed. Such a good life!

Sneezing Humor

Sorry to be so long to post. My computer is having issues with the internet and I have yet to resolve the problems. These pictures are from earlier in the week. Bryce and Jeremy were playing with Bryce's "Animalz" and Jeremy kept making the animals sneeze. Bryce found this to be absolutely hysterical!

Happy Valentine Baby Shower!

My dear friend Jackie threw a lovely baby shower for Jeremy, Bryce and I (and little sister, of course) on Valentine's Day! She outdid herself, as usual, and everyone had a great time! I didn't take any pictures, but luckily Jackie had her camera at the ready. Here are a few pictures from the day...

After Dinner Playtime

Bryce is always very eager for us to finish our dinner quickly, so we can play. Jeremy gets the brunt of it...something to the effect of, "Daddy, get up, run!" Tonight, Bryce started building with blocks and then had fun when Jeremy joined in. Later, Bryce was getting a ride on the quilt from Big Meow-Meow and Puddy decided to join in. I don't think Puddy was actually helping, though!

Not So Cold!

It was finally a warmish day in Brooklyn! Bryce and I went to the playground in our neighborhood. Bryce rode his tricycle (I pushed, but he let his feet go around on the pedals and steered.) Bryce had lots of fun going up and down the stairs and down the slides. He even went down the spiral slide all by himself (over and over again)!

Saturday Fun!

We had a SUPER busy Saturday! We started out at Music Together, where Bryce had a lot of fun singing and dancing. Then, we headed to Super Soccer Stars. Bryce started out being a bit contrary and then had some fun playing the cones. Unfortunately, just as Bryce was really getting into playing, an older kid (who shouldn't have been there) ran him over (bruising his chest). After that, Bryce didn't want to play anymore. After soccer, we went to the NY Aquarium for Daphne's 2nd birthday. Bryce loved seeing the sting rays, sharks and turtles...and then particularly loved the hot dog and cupcakes for lunch!

Danny Comes to Brooklyn

Yesterday, Bryce's Aunt Nikki and cousin Danny came to Brooklyn for a visit! Bryce had lots of fun playing with Danny's car seat. Other than briefly patting Danny's head after his nap, Bryce paid no attention to Danny.

Goalie-to-Be?

Bryce was playing "Super Soccer Stars" with Big Meow-Meow (assisted by Mimi) today. Big Meow-Meow would kick the ball into the fort and Bryce would catch it and throw it back out of the top. Bryce really thought the game was a blast and would shriek and laugh whenever the ball was "kicked" to him!

Super Bowl Sunday

We gave Bryce a special treat this evening... he got to watch a little of the Super Bowl. He happily snacked on his pizza and green beans while watching t.v. He kept asking where the footballs went and saying that he wanted to see animals. The best was when the showed the commentators holding the microphones and Bryce said, "They're eating ice cream!" His next favorite moment was when there was a commercial with sheep!
