Bathtime Dinosaur Meets Sea Lion

I'm not sure how the bath time dinosaur game was started with Jeremy and Bryce, but it is a regular favorite for Bryce. Tonight, things became even more exciting when Bryce turned into a sea lion! Thankfully, dinosaurs and sea lions are very compatible.

Happy Easter!

Bryce awoke bright and early this morning (actually, the same time as usual) and was excited to discover "presents" in the living room. He did not seem to understand the concept of the Easter Bunny (who can blame him), but did enjoy his Easter Egg Hunt and the Peeps that were hidden in the eggs!

Grandpa Macky brought over a few more Easter gifts... Bryce now has his own flashlight and magnifying glass. He loves going into the bathroom with the lights out and "discovering" things.

Dyeing Eggs

In anticipation of the arrival of the Easter Bunny tomorrow... Bryce, Jeremy and I dyed eggs this afternoon. Eggs and toddlers don't really mix well, but it was fun nonetheless. Only one egg was broken...which is not too bad considering the possibilities. Bryce did a little coloring, but mostly directed Jeremy and I in how he wanted things done. He did help pour the dye on the eggs, though.Here we are being silly as I was getting Bryce dressed, but Bryce referred to himself as a bunny, so I had to include the pictures as part of the overall Easter theme!

Bonked Head

For the last few days, Bryce has been bonking his head on things and then asking me to hold him. He never hits his head hard...and sometimes not at all. Essentially, he is wanting my undivided attention. Sadly, tonight, he really bonked his head (and not for attention). He was running and didn't lift his foot enough. The sound of the fall was horrible and the bruising was instantaneous. Bryce recovered pretty quickly thanks to some frozen peas. He likes to eat them when he is hurt (and we applied them to the bruise.) Unfortunately, I still haven't recovered. My poor baby!

Going To the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...

... How about you, you, you?
This is the song Bryce was singing this morning as we prepared to leave for the zoo. We met up with Julien and Juaquin (and their mommies, Jackie and Barree) and had a fantastic time. The weather was perfect and the boys enjoyed running around together and sharing snacks!

Quote of the Day:

James was working late downstairs in the office, so Jeremy asked him if he wanted to join us for dinner. James declined. Part of the way through dinner, Bryce asked where James' chair was. We told him that James wasn't coming up for dinner. Bryce said, "I need James to come up!" So, after Bryce finished his food, he got down from the table and went to the gate at the top of the stairs to call down to James.

He hollered, "James, I want you to come up, please!"

James heard him and came to the bottom of the stairs and said, "Are you talking to me?"

Bryce responded, "No, I yelling."

C is for Curious!

Bryce and Mimi were reading "C is for Curious... An ABC Book of Feelings". Bryce is really interested in figuring out what all the feelings are, but is annoyed if he thinks that you aren't reading the exact words in the book.H is for Happy!

Quote of the Day:
During dinner this evening...
"What's that, Daddy?"
"It's hot sauce. Do you want to try some? It is spicy hot."
"Yes, please."
"You are sure you want some?"
"Yes."
... So Jeremy puts some hot sauce on his plate. Bryce looks at it for a second and then says...
"I don't want it!"
"You just asked me for some."
"I don't want it! Take it away, please."

Train of Thought

Thank goodness for Bryce's trains! Bryce was full of toddler-ness today and the only thing that kept him out of the naughty spot was when he started playing with his trains. I think he likes that he is in charge on the tracks!

Quote of the day: After reading the poem "Raindrops and Rainbows", Bryce declared, "I like rainbows." I agreed. Then, Bryce looked outside and said, "I don't see one." I explained that there wouldn't be a rainbow today, but maybe on another day. Bryce asked, "Soon?". "Yes," I said. Then he said, "Sunday?"

The inflection in his voice as he questions things and the somewhat random questioning is so funny!
